U.S. Passes military control to Iraqis

Wednesday

Vice President Joe Biden participated in a change of command ceremony as part of the last phase in the U.S. military handover to the Iraqi military, which is being called “Operation New Dawn."

The vice president said the transition from a combat-led Defense Dept. strategy to the diplomatic focus of the State Department symbolizes a "different chapter in the relationship with Iraq." He went on to echo the sentiments made by President Obama in Tuesday night's oval office address.
